The GP R15 is a modern AR-15 type semi-automatic rifle. It is chambered in .223 Wylde and will handle both .223 Remington and 5.56×45 NATO. Its 1:7 twist ratio is capable of stabilizing a wide range of projectile weights. The free-floating barrel is nitrided for exceptional accuracy, durability and corrosion resistance. The rifle is offered in five different barrel lengths, 11”, 14.5”, 16.5” (18” and 20” are available upon request). Rifles come with M4 feed ramps for more reliable feeding. The muzzle of the rifles has a standard 1/2×28 thread pitch and the rifles are equipped with a muzzle brake.
The bolt is made of 9310 steel, while the bolt carrier is 8620 steel. The bolt carrier has a properly seated gas key that prevents it from loosening.
The rifles are currently available in both a straight-action version - the GP R15, and a short-stroke piston version - the GP R15 M.
On the GP R15, the 11” barrel length uses a carbine length gas system, while the 14.5” and 16.5” barrels are equipped with a medium length and the 18” and 20” are equipped with a rifle length gas system. This has the benefit of not only reducing felt recoil, muzzle lift and sight distortion during firing, but the optimized gas pressure also results in less wear on internal parts, resulting in longer rifle life.
The GP R15 M uses a short-stroke gas piston with a three-position, adjustable gas block. Allows the user to select settings for normal, adverse, and suppressed operation.
The GP R15 handguard features a full-length Picatinny rail at 12 o'clock and M-LOK slots at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock, providing an extremely versatile mounting solution while reducing weight.
In contrast, the piston-driven GP R15 M's handguard is easily removable thanks to the QD lever. This allows quick access to the piston mechanism for easy stripping and cleaning. In addition, it has Picatinny rails at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions.
The safety dial and charging handle are ambidextrous.
